CIFAR extends an invitation to submit proposals for Discovery Workshops under the broad theme of The Future of Food. Specifically, interdisciplinary and international proposals to address global questions and foster new research networks, with preference for new collaborations and commitment to diversity.
Proposals should come from 3-5 interdisciplinary researchers. If awarded, CIFAR will support full participant list development, agenda planning, and networking. The workshop proposals should approach research questions through diverse, interdisciplinary lenses (potentially spanning the humanities, social sciences, arts, physical sciences, and life sciences) to foster sustained dialogue and spark new insights and areas of inquiry related to The Future of Food.
Workshop proposals will be evaluated on four key criteria, including Transformative Research Potential, Interdisciplinarity and Excellence of the Research Team, and Alignment with CIFAR’s Mission and Vision. The application process will require detailed information on the core team, the research question(s) and their significance, long-term impact aspirations, and the need for CIFAR's support.
