The CIFAR Forum on Radical Interdisciplinarity will engage exceptional junior faculty and postdoctoral scholars to identify frontier topics in interdisciplinary research and provide opportunities for early career researchers to take risks working across the academy. This year’s theme is Arctic Horizons, encouraging participants to explore the future of the Arctic through the lens of complex challenges, emerging research horizons, and unique avenues of inquiry. In partnership with the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), the forum will be held from February 10-11, 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Interested applicants must be within 10 years of receiving their PhD and hold a postdoctoral or faculty position based in Canada or Switzerland. Participants outside these jurisdictions who meet the career-stage criteria and who have participated in a CIFAR program may also apply.
